For more than 100 years, the Derby Evening Telegraph has been the major source of news in Derby, documenting the history of the city as it happens.
If you are interested in any aspect of the city’s life and history, and think it has been covered by the Evening Telegraph, we can help you.
Through its electronic archive, the library offers a search facility for all articles published in the paper since July 1998 and for all photographs since May 1996.
If you are looking for a particular article or picture from that period, we can find it and make a paper copy of it for you.
If you are looking for an article that has been published within the last twelve months, you can buy a copy of the newspaper it was in.
We also have extensive microfilm archives for the period before 1998, going back to 1879, which we can search and copy for you.
If you want to order a photographic print of a picture which has appeared in the paper, see our Archive.
We can also produce framed commemorative pages from the Derby Evening Telegraph for any date since we began in July 1879. library@derbytelegraph.co.uk
